InfoPath won't send emails because Outlook 2013 is not the default

Hi all! New here - very desperate to get some help before the 1st of Feb as the form I created is going to be rolled out to thousands of staff at my office - just want to ensure everything will go on smoothly. So I created a form from InfoPath 2013 which is programmed to submit to a Share Point site and send a confirmation email to the person who submitted the form that the form has been sent to Share Point. Office-wide, we have Outlook 2007 as our default (we don't have Outlook 2013), and have both InfoPath 2013 and 2007 (2007 is the default for MOST staff, not all staff). When the form is submitted through InfoPath 2007 - it sends an email just fine. When the form is submitted through InfoPath 2013, however, an error message comes up saying it cannot send because Outlook 2013 must be set as the default program. This is okay for those who open the form in 2007, but not so good for those who open the form in 2013. I have tried changing the compatibility of the form as 2007 InfoPath filler form - still doesn't work. I want to eliminate the hassle of changing the default program from 2013 to 2007 just so that staff could receive an email from InfoPath. I also don't think it's possible for Outlook 2013 to be rolled out office-wide just so that they can accommodate my form. Please help!!!!!!! Thank you very much.

I think generally the same version of InfoPath and Outlook need to be installed (although the combination of InfoPath 2013 and Outlook 2016 has been working for me). Can your users have the same version of InfoPath and Outlook installed? Can your form maybe be used as a browser form instead?

My company uses Outlook 2016 (Office 365) with Info-Path 2013 and I am getting this error message.  Is there ANY work around?  Installing the same year product is not an option for me.

Try running a repair on InfoPath (or Office) - Oh, and make sure they are both the same version bit-wise, like both 64-bit or both 32-bit.

    Hello,

Did the repair or reinstall of InfoPath 2013 work for this issue. I'm having the same problem. My current setup is InfoPath 2013 and Outlook 2013 on windows 7. We're moving to Windows 10 with Outlook 2016 and I'm getting the "Outlook2013 must be as the default email program" using InfoPath 2013 on the custom coded email button which switches views and makes the envelope visible.

In my case, the envelope is not visible even though it's set to true.
