tns is not a DOM, it is a namespace prefix that you want to define for the DOM you want to do your selections from.
Also, your definition seems wrong... it seems unlikely that "?WSDL" is part of your definition. It looks more like you are providing a web service url rather than a namespace definition. The definition must match EXACTLY ...

You are correct but here is the interesting thing:
you don't need to do any of this hacking on Forms Server - it seems like the navigator you get from the data source has the proper PIs in that case.
The reason my hack does not work there is because the implementation of the navigator is different.

It did not work for me in Forms Server. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the server logs, so I can't do much debugging.

I guess I just need to add a disclaimer that the trick relies on the internal implementation of the Navigator so this is not guaranteed to work in future versions of InfoPath (and might actually not even work on Forms Server - to be verified).

From the File menu in the toolbar you can select "Extract Form Files..." it is differnet in 2003 vs 2007.
Then you would close the form.
Go to the folder you extracted to.
Find the manifest and right click and select design.
