Sorry about that.
I am at a loss. You say you do not have the standard menus in forms designer. I believe you might be using Visual Studio instead. Try using the help to find the data connections.

You need the VSTA for 2007
VSTO 2005 will not work with 2007.

You would still need to be careful if the user opens it twice but you should be fine in this situation.
What you do is create a secondary data connection to recieve from the form library itself. Make sure the ID number is in the defualt view and that all items are displayed in the view, not just the default top 100.

You can add a rule which uses a substring function to insert the dashes in the correct positions when the cell is left but no I do not believe there is a way to have it build as they go like in some interfaces.

I use an Active Directory web service which identifies the form user by their network login, even if they are accessing remotely via VPN, etc. This can also access any data in Active Directory such as location or manager, etc

Hi Simon.
You definitely can make a nice form in InfoPath for the requestor which will not submit unless they complete it properly.
What is the workflow you are anticipating? If you hope to have it automatically book a resource in Exchange, etc then that would be much more difficult. If you are going to keep an availability ...
