When I use the publishing wizard and publish it to a Sharepoint form library, the form works ok. However, it is not accessible if I upload it as a file to the library and have users open it up as a regular document and not as a new document. I would like for users to open it up as a regular document so as to avoid having a bunch of ...

Hi all - first post please help!
This is partially a rant but I really do need some help.
We had a consultant come in to get us pointed in the right direction with our shiny new SharePoint portal. Part of the scope of the work was to create 2 InfoPath forms for some common HR forms. After spending several days on the effort, ...

OK. I lied! Well not really. I have progressed nicely since this morning. Everything is going fine but I moved on to finishing the code for this. What I now need to do is combine the query function to DBXL with the rest of the code.

On some forms, users are unable to edit previously populated information in fields like a drop down, text input, or date picker when the open the form from the form ...

Be forwarned that this technique does not work on a web enabled form. So if your end goal is to have people fill it out who do not have infopath then you will need to use a workaround.

No, not inside the form library. The web service needs to be built on a server where InfoPath can access it, such as on the SharePoint server itself.
The DB _has_ to be in a shared location that is accessible to InfoPath and the users using InfoPath (permissions).
