if you are not using any code behind, then click remove code in the form options ->programming. that should let your form to load faster

1. In InfoPath, click to Design a New Form Template. Choose a Blank template.
2. Choose a Table with Title layout, add a single Text box control. Save template locally to C: drive.

My initial theory was that this is what was happening, so i've already tried adding the user to the local administrators of the machine, but the same error is still logged. i've not tried adding the user to the backup operators group yet though... will this make a difference? this server is not a domain controller...

I believe you may have uncovered a bug in DBXL. When saving to SharePoint, DBXL impersonates the user. If an error occurs during submit, the error is written to the eventlog, but in this case the user is still being impersonated and writing to the eventlog fails.
Can you verify the user has permissions to the document library? ...

If I use a Form template that has been designed for Forms services(Infopath 2003)/Form Library in SharePoint(WSS&MOSS 2007), and then use that template (.xsn) separately, when not connected to a server, when I hit the submit (which send the data to the SahrePoint Server) what will happen when not connected? I have another question! Is there anyway to have the summed totals recaluculate when the values in the table change? Currently, if something changes from a credit amount to a debit amount, the credit is not removed from the total.

Okay that help to don´t show initialy the repeating table, section or whatever.
But I have the problem that when I have a section with a normal table inside there is always a empty line after the table in the section. An its not possible to remov that new line. With a other control like a textfield or a richttext - its possible to do so.
