Looks like the problem is that the source table has a blank description. I tested by adding a description and the command works. Do you expect to have many blank values in your secondary data source?

yes i found an option to use conditional formatting so have checked that box for each of the user roles in the sign off process so this stops them adding or deleting any rows.
i found by having datetime field in the rows i could also identify which row in the repeating table matched in the db so i can allow them to change existing row data ...

got it to work, used a different method... one you mentioned on someone else's post. didn't directly pull the manager name and email from GetCommonManager but used the UserProfilebyName and then followed your step below. Not sure why it worked and the direct call didnt, but.......thanks!

We have a form that takes several minutes to fill in. If the user takes too long in completing the form when they click on the button an error pops up.Is there any way to debug this or find out why it sometimes fails to submit to the qdabrawebservice?

you can lockdown the repeating table, double click the repeating table and in Data -> Default Settings uncheck 'Allow Users to insert and delete rows"
