Hi Hilary, I am not 100% sure i am on my work network, so i believe its a prem share point server owned by my company. I will start by contacting site admin, Do you think the issue is maybe the people picker? Is this an on-prem SharePoint server? Or are you using SharePoint Online? If on-prem, I'd start by checking the ULS logs (or ask your server admin to check the logs). Also is this a list form from a customized list?

Can you describe this with a little more detail? So - the user selects an option from a dropdown list in the form, and then a different section in the form is highlighted a different color based on their selection? Are they selecting the color?

Are your users using InfoPath filler forms? Or browser forms? Or a mix? What version of Windows?

In our case it turned out that a fresh InfoPath 2013 32BIT version install on a never-had-InfoPath-installed-before-machine was the trick. One you have installed a 64BIT version, uninstalling 64BIT and reinstalling 32BIT will still cause the 32BIT to give this same error so start fresh!
