SharePoint lists are great because they are easy to set up and pull in data into the InfoPath form. This is all available to you out of the box and is relatively simple to implement as well. For each dropdown or list you need to import as choices into your form, you will need to create a SP list for.
If you require many records (eg. ...

The two controls require different data types for fields that they must be bound to in order to function correctly. I think you're stuck with the current design and have to maintain the single field and repeating field for the list box and MSLB controls.

I have a validation on a field. Its a large form with many sections.
The validation is:

Yes, anything with code or qRules won't publish as a browser form. As well as the other issues with querying 2ds and sum function.
-
But you also couldn't publish a form with a little bit of custom code as a browser form, right? So, isn't is Sandbox in general that is causing you issues?
-
My query issues are with forms without code or qRules so go figure. Anything with qRules will hang and fail to publish to the sandbox as a browser enabled form.

I changed one of my smaller apps to retrieve all of the data connections on load and it still hangs on Forms Services and does not allow open in Browser.
