I have a validation on a field. Its a large form with many sections.

The validation is:

if user group contains xxx AND  (in my test instance = TRUE)

Field 1 = "Pending" AND (in my test instance = TRUE)

Name is not blank AND (in my test instance = TRUE)

Approval Status is not Blank (in my test instance = FALSE)

outcome =  "Field cannot remain as pending"

My problem is, the validation is still firing even though only the first 3 "rules" are true and the last rule is false. I have tried changin AND for OR but to no avail, can anyone point out what I have done incorrectly.

Just checking if you separated each of these conditions and outputted on the screen that these are in fact the outcomes that are occuring.  I would test each of the conditions one by one and see which is the one that is problematic.  Could be a case if certain fields being set in the improper order, so testing it one by one will be your best bet to narrow down the problem.
