Hi,
I have been facing this problem for a long time and I hope someone could help me
1. I have a multiple selection list box whose values come from a sql table with a secondary data source Eg let us say there is a list of courses taken by a student like Mathematics, Science etc
2. Now I have a save button with which I want to save the ...

Whether you have a list form or a library (content) form they should both open in browser mode.
If you want to open then form directly from a link then you should be able to substitute the correct URL which then wouldn't need you to click the 'Edit item' button on the tool bar

Are you sure that it's creating a 'new' form?
You stated ' Upon creating a new document, all the text boxes will be populated with
the user profiles pertaining to user who creates a new document'
Do you check with a condition to a rule that it is a 'new document'?
If you wipe over the defaults of a form ...

That's no Newbie question, as far as I can tell!
It isn't possible OOTB to populate a repeating section/list from a secondary list/library without code or the qDabra add in. I have the same situation atm which entails responding to an unknown number of questions and keeping the response somewhere for future ...

I was able to get properly functioning lookup controls by moving to InfoPath.
I would love to find educational resources (blogs, forums, videos, tutorials, etc.) on InfoPath SharePoint integration.

I am pretty new(ish) to InfoPath and I have come across an issue that I'm not sure about how to solve. All other issues I have had have been solved with a simple google search, however, not this one.
Scenario:
I have a list of questions in SharePoint that can be added to or have items ...

You've obviously hit a wall here...
Sharepoint Lists will always dynamically render a dialog that encapsulates all the fields in the list, when you customise that form you are on your own from there on in.
Not sure about the 'lookup columns' issues but I think you should be able to do that in an InfoPath form.
What are you ...

Couldn't you stop them doing anything else, including switching views, if they didn't enter a proper person in the people picker?
The people picker has a property called 'Display Name' (not at my normal PC so i think thats it) so you add that as a pre requisite condition that allows you to do anything else in your ...

You will need to have your InfoPath form submit to a list(maybe the same document library but I wouldn't suggest that), each time you submit a form to that list it will be inserted row by row, that is then the list that you can use in excel using the data connection which will get all the new rows from the list for analysis
