Thank you so much for your help! I initially did not have the subtotals in a repeating table but I did figure out that I needed to do that so it is in a repeating table now. I tried to figure out the formula with the IF statement but I am getting an error and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Hi Krishna, yes you can do all of what you are asking both in and out of repeating tables/sections, you just need to get your logic, and where you point to it, in order.
I think I have appended a form that demonstrates what you are asking for and the logic hopefully it is relatively easy to follow?

When you're in InfoPath design? If so, probably not, it's worse in SharePoint Designer, it's not that easy to determine where you are in the designers as if you were in a web page with a location tag, so, you just have to keep scrolling up and down unfortunately

Found at least 1 answer - used the following formula on a separate text box control - substring(eval(eval(AssignedTo[. != ""], 'concat(";", .)'), ".."), 2)
AssignedTo is my field name on the assignee repeating table.
This leads me onto another question, but I'll have a crack at it first.

Very simple project. Yet, I'm having many brain dead moments. So I might be making this far more complicated than I need to.
On SP10 and InfoPath 2010 - Creating a helpdesk form.
I've a backend SP list (TechStaff) This lists contains all tech staff and their IT group/dept.
On my form I have a ...
