So - does this form work the way you intend in general? I'm concerned about all the repeating sections - I'm assuming when you add a repeating section at the top, all the others would then have a second instance as well. It seems like that might be confusing for the user - I'd be more likely to use a single repeating section with the ...

I'd assume if fields are unbound, they'd need to be changed in a number of places in the views and in the manifest. It sounds like this is a SharePoint List form? Are you copying / pasting from one InfoPath form to another? Sorry, I'm not quite understanding the scenario. If you are copying / pasting controls from one form to another ...

So - there is no way out of the box in InfoPath to submit secondary data. Is this a SharePoint List form (sorry, I'm sort of confused at this point)? Is it set to manage multiple items? List forms have a lot of restrictions that sometimes make them hard to work with - if you don't mind sharing your form (attach it under the Options tab in ...

There are many kinds of InofPath forms. It just happens that database bound forms have some limitations when used in the browser. Also, since InfoPath is deprecated, we are seeing less capabilities allowed in SharePoint Online. I'm assuming Microsoft would prefer we stop building things with a deprecated product. PowerApps can connect to SQL ...

Add another helper field to your repeating table - and then you can use logic on it to act on each row individually. So - you have a helper field called "set" for example in your repeating table. You can have an action that sets that field to 1, outside of the repeating table. Then the rules on the "set" field can set the ...

The issue is that the default in the case of manual assigns all the amount to the first month selected in the case of the current year. As long as you use a default, you are going to face the same issue of the value being updated when the user re-opens a saved form. Again, I'd recommend using a rules based approach. What if you had two ...

Ah, OK. You should be able to use to local-name as a filter. See attached sample - save it locally, right click and select design, then you can preview or take a look at the logic.

Yick. Okay - so I understand the temptation to use substring formulas for conditional values, and sometimes they can be useful, but this seems awfully complicated. It appears that the split is based on the month to start as well as the option button, and then also depends on the year, right? If for "this" year, we pay attention to the ...

You cannot publish InfoPath forms with code to SharePoint Online. I really don't have a suggestion for using your SQL bound form in SharePoint Online. Have you thought about using PowerApps?

Thank you so much for sharing your code sample - I am sure others will find it useful.
