The assembly or AppDomain that failed was: Qdabra.Tools.RulesLibrary

Four out of five web forms containing qRules are failing with errors such as:

    Error

    An unexpected error has occurred.

The first error above was previously occurring when DBXL was not able to access its databases- the forms included qRules that used DBXL. The issue with DBXL was corrected and all web forms were functioning fine.

That is until another issue with DBXL requiring CLR being enabled in the database was resolved. This may have been chance, or the two are related.

ULS log events along with an event viewer event are attached.

I forgot to mention that no errors are showing up in the Qdabra DBXL event logs on the servers.

    Hi-

Since there are no errors in the Qdabra log, I would assume the error is happening somewhere between the form and qRules and IPFS.

How are the forms published to SharePoint? If via DBXL, I would try just editing and resaving each document type via the DBXL Admin Tool. The SharePoint mapping should force a republish and (assuming the sandbox service is still running after the changes to the server) the form template will be refreshed in SharePoint, the code activated and hopefully the error goes away.

Re: The assembly or AppDomain that failed was: Qdabra.Tools.RulesLibrary

The issue appears to have involved DBXL not being able to connect to the database server. Complicating matters appears to have been some strange behavior with SharePoint involving caching/syncing settings and forms.

    Ernesto,

The problem returned and a reboot of the SharePoint servers resolved it. I suspect it may return again.

The forms are published via Central Administration as administrator approved form templates. Oddly, one out of five forms is not effected. The form not effected is submitting to DBXL, the three forms that case errors when rendering for the web are submitting to SharePoint directly.

Re: The assembly or AppDomain that failed was: Qdabra.Tools.RulesLibrary

    Update:

    1. I republished one of the forms and the problem remains.

    2. After rebooting the servers yesterday, the problem returned today.

    3. Performing an iisreset /noforce on the web front end server corrects the problem until it returns again.

Re: The assembly or AppDomain that failed was: Qdabra.Tools.RulesLibrary

    Update:

The forms were set with a security level of Full Trust and published as Administrator-approved form templates. I changed the security level to Automatic (with the Domain level radio button appearing selected while also grayed out) and the error did not reoccur. I first did this for one of the forms, verifying that it continued to work after several days. I then updated the other forms, which were failing with the error, and the updated versions work without error. No IISReset was needed.

I will wait to see if this workaround continues to be stable.
