    Submitting workflow form - newbie to InfoPath 2010

    Hi,

    I have a form that contains 4 sections in which each have 4 objects (a Signature Line control, a textBox for comments from that person, a checkbox that is to be checked when Signature Line is completed, a Submit button that checks the checkbox and assigns validates the Signature Line and sends an email top the next recipient in line for approval and opens up a msg box advising user of completion and then closes form).

    My client is running an older version of MS Sharepoint (2007).  The goal here is to have the current original user (a nurse) fill out the form and submit it.  The head nurse for her section should receive an email advising that its her turn to check the form and when that person accesses the form the appropriate signature section appears.

    Can someone tell me how I can accomplish all of this simply without dealing with SP?

    Thanks,

    Hi Jean,

    Here's the reply to your email:

    ====

    Hi Jean, If you're using browser-based forms, you will need to configure some kind of server-based email either using SharePoint or some third-party tool (such as our DBXL SharePoint Accelerator for InfoPath). If you have InfoPath Filler forms, you can just send email from the form. I'll be showing an example in my webinar tomorrow that implements simple forms-based workflow without relying on SharePoint. Here's a link to a webinar I am doing tomorrow to show this technique: http://us1.campaign-archive1.com/?u=5d67a2cafe027a62e23241ac5&id=f014c7291f&e=  Please let me know if you are interested in retaining consulting services. We do require a retainer to do work. Best regards,

     Hi Patrick,

     its a shame but I could not attend the session you gave this morning on the  topic of using worflow in InfoPath 2010 without using Sharepoint.

     Is there a recorded version of your presentation?

    Hi Jean,

    That was last week! :)

    We haven't started recording the webinars yet, but we will soon.
