Breaking up my VERY BIG FORM

I have a InfoPath (2007) form that has 649 fields.  It is published to Form Services on a WSS 3.0 site.  It is browser enabled.

     Here are my problems:

    1. I can't edit anything in Datasheet view (even if I have a view with just the fields I want to edit.
    2. I tried to create a workflow to populate some fields, and unfortunately, I can't get it to work.
    3. The form loads very slow.
    4. Ok, more problems than I want to state, but the above three are the top few.

I'm open to suggestions, but what I was thinking is if there is a way to make "Sub forms" or linked forms, or linked libraries that tap into the same data but have only a subset of fields.

I also have 700+ forms that are already filled out that I will need to "Migreate" or "Upgrade" without losing data moving to whatever solution I come up with.

I am very resourceful, and can figure out a lot on my own if someone has some helpful suggestions on where to start.

     Thanks!

Just create separate views in the same form and have those show different sections of your data source. Change your default view to a view that lets you pick the other views. This way, you don't change your data source, so the existing 700 forms will open. We've done this kind of thing before and you could hire us to do some form "detailing" if you want, but you can also do this yourself. Just create additional views and some tabbed interface to switch between them. Make sure the initial view does not contain a lot of info so it loads fast. Also, look at how big your forms are. If they are 500kb+, you may want to redesign your form into several small ones, or maybe not, but first thing to try is to create separate views in the same form template.
