  • Re: Export Infopath xml-File to Pdf with Managed Code

Hi Kalyan, I know that there have been four years since you posted that link, but I am interested in exporting an InfoPath form to PDF.  The web site is now parked and no longer has the content you referenced.  Do you have any other links that have similar information?  Thanks,  William H.

  • Re: Communicating with SQL Server from InfoPath

Skarn, Thanks a lot for the detailed reply.  I believe I have it working now based on Part 1.  I'm using this inside of SharePoint, so I'm grabbing the CustomerID as part of the Query String to the page that displays the form, using the SharePoint Query String filter web part.  Thanks again!      Thank you again, Patrick.  When you say, "pass a field to the query", do you mean to have the query field version of the CustomerID field placed on the form?  Then that will be sent through the web service data connection to the stored procedure? I understand the web service and the stored procedure, I'm just not ...

  • Re: Communicating with SQL Server from InfoPath

Hi Patrick, That makes a lot of sense.  So, if I use the Web Service connection, I can use a parameterized query, and I would be passing the parameter to a SQL stored procedure to complete my query? I'll also take a look at DBXL. Thanks for the help! William

  • Communicating with SQL Server from InfoPath

Hi, I have a client information form, and I have had the client able to enter his/her ID and then pull up their profile information from SQL Server 2008. I am now being asked to pull up the same information by passing the Client's LoginID, which will be the same as the ClientID and somehow passing that to SQL Server and retrieving the ...

  • Error on Trying to Open InfoPath Form Web Part

Hi, I have form services completely enabled on my SP2010 farm.  I am using InfoPath 2010, and developed a browser-enabled form and published it. When I add an InfoPath form web part to a new page, I find that if I click on "Open Tool Pane", or select "Edit Web Part", I receive an error.  The error message says, ...

  • Re: Secondary Data Sources and Non-Repeating Fields

Thank you - that does clear things up. I didn't realize about the XML data connection.  Yes, I did know that the secondary data source won't be saved.  Thanks again!

  • Secondary Data Sources and Non-Repeating Fields

Is it true that secondary data sources can only be bound to repeating controls, like repeating text boxes?  I would like to use a secondary data source, but I don't want or need the repeating controls, just the non-repeating ones. Thanks!

  • Re: Using a Decimal Data Type in InfoPath

Thank you for the tips, Patrick! This may be a dumb question, but if I created the view, then how would I make sure that my external list has the freshest data?  Would the view refresh periodically, or would I need to schedule that? Thanks again, William

  • Re: Using a Decimal Data Type in InfoPath

I found on this InfoPath Dev forum that "you can use a web service or .NET shim to mediate between the data source and the external list" Located here: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/t/17826.aspx So, I guess my question would be now, does anyone have a recommendation on how to accomplish the recommended web service or ...
