Secondary Data Sources and Non-Repeating Fields

Is it true that secondary data sources can only be bound to repeating controls, like repeating text boxes?  I would like to use a secondary data source, but I don't want or need the repeating controls, just the non-repeating ones.

    Thanks!

Well, the type of control depends on the data source. So if the secondary data source contains repeating data, sure, the controls will have to be in a repeating table. You can create an XML file and then a data connection to it to bind your controls.... but you know that any info in a control bound to a secondary data source won't be saved in the XML when the form is saved, right?

Thank you - that does clear things up. I didn't realize about the XML data connection.  Yes, I did know that the secondary data source won't be saved.

     Thanks again!
