This is really old but I'll reply anyway in case anyone else wants to do this. I just let my field be promoted as a number. Then in my SharePoint list I just made a calculated column that is equal to that field and formatted as currency. Annoying to have 2 columns just to fix the display, but it's easy enough and it works.

Is it possible to have the toolbar ALWAYS visible above every rich text box? The reason being that browser-forms can seem confusing for some people. Since the old sharepoint forms didn't have spell check, I always encourage people to use google toolbar in my department. The only thing I think is that if there is a whole lot of text, it will tell you that it could only check the the first xx words. I think that was google that does that. Is there any way to promote a rich text field to the sharepoint library and maintain the HTML breaks, bold, etc?  I can't use programming :( and am disappointed to find out that this doesn't work out of the box.

While that might work for spaces, what about all the different characters i don't want?  I'm afraid of how messy it can get f I have to remove all those special characters 1 by 1.
