I am not sure I understand what you mean by a "batch file". Is this an XML data source? If it is you can definitely bind a textbox to it and you can populate a dropdown control with values from it. Not sure if I got your question right, though, could you please be more specific?

To update a control field one of the articels uses the following code:strStartDate = XDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode _("/my:myFields/my:startDate").text

It will add a new record to the table but if I change the selections in each new record, it changes all of the records to the same thing... do I have to do the current() on ALL the fields in the Repeating table?
Thanks!

Hi Greg, Thanks for your response! I am using the xml batch file to submit to a SharePoint list. I created the repeating table by right clicking on the secondary data source (batch). I want one of my fields to point to a text box and one to a drop down list box. Is that possible using steps 1 or 2?

Every platform has its challenges and limitations. Your choice depends on a lot of factors such as cost, accessibility, maintainability, etc.
InfoPath makes developing forms much faster and easier than ASP.NET, however, each computer that runs the form must have a copy of InfoPath installed.
As for limitations, it all depends on what you want to ...

You might find that trying to do all this with expressions and XPath is more complicated than its worth. Move to code for something like this and it will be more straight forward and probably more performant.
