The titles are usually just text so they always show. In your case, the table header will not be affected.
If you drag in a node from the Data Source pane, InfoPath Designer usually inserts the node name as plain text next to the control. If this is the title you're talking about, then just keep one piece text and two controls. The text will ...

Okay David,
Thanks, that makes sense. I will try that in the morning. Just one more thing:
1. Will the table still show the title of the fields in the left column so the user will know what data to input even if that control is hidden? That is the part that I was confused about?

Like I said, you can just insert both:
1. In designer, you insert "Fields" as a repeating table, it gives you one row with two columns, name and field. From the data source, drag the "name" node into the first column next to name. Now you've got two idential textboxes showing the same value.

The select is failing, thus the .text property not valid.
Sounds like the issue is likely with the namespaces. Assuming the node names are all accurate, check to make sure each node has the appropraite namespace. For example, "my:" on dataFields looks suspicious to me.

Why cannot you just add both the textbox and the dropdown?
You can then conditionally format them such that if the current row is 3, you hide the textbox, otherwise you hide the dropdown.

Yes, I created a secondary data connection to a CAML source code (.XML) to submit a list to SharePoint. It creates 3 rows. Two of the fields will be populated via text box from user. Then I would like for the other field to contain a drop down list box which will contain a data connection to a SharePoint list. In design view, I can either create ...
