Thanks for your response. i too think the same, it might take more time to implement and not so stright forward.How about to implement in ASP.net, web based so that easy to develop. is it better idea insted of infopath better to go with web based application as more complicated requrements?

I have following xml structure. <field1> and <field2> are text fields. User enters many types and categories. The validation has to check if a type combinated with category already exist.

current()/../d:tblSAAudit/@Category gets the cascading drop downs working again but when I hit "insert item" on the repeating table, my selections from the first row still carry through to the next and if I change them in one row they change in all rows. ??

You need to make this XPath:
xdxDocument:get-DOM()/dfs:myfields/dfs:datafields/d:tblMainAuditInfo/d:tblSAAudit/@Category
Be this:
current()/d:tblSAAudit/@Category
If that doesn't work, try this:
current()/../d:tblSAAudit/@Category

thank you for reply. My problem now is to submit a "query_rule" execution after queryfields fill up. Is there a way to submit from code the execution of a "query_rule" (with datafields fill up automation)? Also have you idea for another way to do this?
