You can remove the child section before adding the parent. It would go something like this:
IXMLDOMDocument2 tempdom = (IXMLDOMDocument2)thisXDocument.CreateDOM();
tempdom.async = false;
tempdom.validateOnParse = false;
tempdom.load( ''sampledata.xml'' );
IXMLDOMNode nToAdd = tempdom.documentElement.selectSingleNode( ''/group1/group2'' ...

That is simply how the Text and InnerXml properties are defined. If you use this statement I think you will get what you are looking for. If you are trying to display this in the form, say in a rich text box, you will have to actually add the HTML as a child node under the rich text node.

Hi Patricia,
A little generous with those parentheses, huh? I think your problem is that you are trying to subtract date fields. I am pretty sure that this will almost always result in NaN, b/c IP treats date fields almost the same as strings. You will have to do calendar arithmetic in code.

Hey Brian, glad you've gotten so much out of the forums and I hope you continue to contribute!
This is an interesting problem. XPath can be incredibly elegant at times and I think this is one of those times. I worked up a sample form to accomplish what you wanted, and if you'd like I can e-mail it to you. Here are the XPaths I used. I've ...

How are you creating the new record? Are you using the New Record button that is created when you link your form's Main DOM to the access DB?

Karsten,
I haven't used this tool very extensively, but if you wanted to try before you buy, we might be able to arrange something. For the situations I have used it, it works very well once everything is configured correctly. Configuration isn't the easiest thing in the world, but once it's done, it's done!

That's not what I'd call easy, Kalyan! This can really get annoying, especially if you have a lot of data connections.
Dean, take a look at this utility that we have created to ease this burden:http://www.qdabra.com/proddetail.asp?prod=QDeployment
Once you have it configured all it takes is a double-click and your done!
