    Move from Dev to Production

I have created a form on my development SharePoint site that uses numerous secondary data source from SharePoint lists. I moved the SharePoint site to a production server, but of course all of the SDS connections still point to development. Is there any easy way to change multiple SDS connections?

    Hello,

You can modify the SDS Connections by doing these steps
Open the Form in designer mode
    Go to Tools|Dataconnections|
Select the dataconnection and click on Modify and make the changes you want.

    I hope it helps you.

That's not what I'd call easy, Kalyan! This can really get annoying, especially if you have a lot of data connections.

Dean, take a look at this utility that we have created to ease this burden:http://www.qdabra.com/proddetail.asp?prod=QDeployment

Once you have it configured all it takes is a double-click and your done!

    Hi Matt,

I often have the same problem like dlgross that I have to change a lot of data connections if I want to move my Infopath forms from my development machine into production.
In my situation I use the 'normal' way with the help of the data connection wizard to establish the secondary datasources (sometimes up to 20) to my SQL server.
Because this is an awful and time-consuming way I´m really interested in a smart solution to do this automatically.
Now I have read the product details about your "XSN Deployment tool" but I´m sorry to say I can´t really imagine if this tool can help me.

Would it be possible for you that you can shortly explain if this tool can help me and how I could use this in my own situation.

BTW: I only use Infopath forms without Sharepoint libraries.

    Thank you very much.

    Karsten,

I haven't used this tool very extensively, but if you wanted to try before you buy, we might be able to arrange something. For the situations I have used it, it works very well once everything is configured correctly. Configuration isn't the easiest thing in the world, but once it's done, it's done!

What will happen if I just do a search and replace in the manifest.xsf file? It looks like there is a sharePointListAdapter node with the siteUrl that I may be able to easily change.

Upon further review, even though the lists have the same name in dev and production, this probably won't work because their is GUID field that I suspecte will be different between the dev and production sites.
