Hi,
I think you are setting “Username” value when user name field is blank.
Just add “open Rule” to set the user name value. Don’t add any condition to that rule.

Did you ever figure this out becasue I am having the exact same issue and my code looks almost identical to yours. By it self my web service works and returns the correct data from the SharePoint list but when I try to use it in InfoPath I get: error connecting to data source.

In JScript, you can invoke the main submit adapter with:
XDocument.Submit();
I believe in VBScript it would be the same without the parentheses and semicolon.

I'm new to InfoPath. Can someone post some sample code for submit. My immediate interest is in code to handle email submission.
Or is there a way to view the code associated with a normal submit button? A normal submit button to an email address doesn't seem to generate any script code, or at least I couldn't find it ...
