Did you set up the data connection to send the form as well?

Hi,
I think you are setting that Boolean value after submitting the form. Set this value on submit button before submitting the form. The rule which is setting the value should be before the rule which is used to submit the form.

The drop down adds a blank row automatically if the data is coming from secondary data connection.
You cannot remove the blank value from dropdown. But you can set the default value to show the xml value instead of blank value. In this case blank value will be displayed in the dropdown but by default first ...

You can achieve your requirement using the below steps.
1. Go to Multi selection list box properties. Add a rule.
2. Add a rule to set the text box value as concat(textboxfield, multiselectfield).
3. Now go to text box properties.
4. Enter the default value as eval(multiselectField,"..")
5. Click ok.
