The error may mean you don't have the necessary permissions to the SQL database. To accomplish connection, you must have the permissions to query and submit to your database.

For your second data validation (A=Y), you can actually separate your two conditions (7 or 8) using "OR" in the dropdown. So in this data validation, you will have a total of three conditions:
A = Y (and)
N = 7/d/d/d/d/d/d (or)
N = 8/d/d/d/d/d/d

On the last page of the Data Connection Wizard, for the Main Connection, it says "Submitting to a database is not supported in browser-enabled templates".
