I'm only using one data connection. The active directory web service is installed on the front end sharepoint servers. How can I verify who is authorized to call the web service?

Does the error message tell you which data source created the error?
It's most likely a permissions issue. You'll need to check on whether your user is authorized to call the web service.

you were right! i went to the sharepoint list and gave full trust to "vistitors" just to see, and the data appeared in the drop down list!! ill have to explore around with the permissions now but that was definitely it. you are a genius. thank you so much!

Why would I get this error" Following URL is not valid :http://00.00.000.00. The IP is the IP that MOSS is on. Site works fine just can not seem to get pasted this error to publish.
