Thanks for the reply. The form is for sales to fill out for design requests, which turn into quotes and then orders, its a 3-in-1. There are items that will never be filled in for each situation. Sorry for not responding sooner. It seems I missed your post. I tried opening the latest form you attached in Preview mode, adding a row to the table, selecting a value for a and b, and Cb is showing the corresponding value just fine. What happens when you try that?

I'm having trouble guessing what would have caused the NaN, but if you type a string into the "Value" field of a "Set a field's value" rule, it will be treated as text and not a function. Our users will be accessing the form from Infopath.
I ahve just been playing with the sql permissions, testing for one person, and Ihave to change their rights to sysadmin to get the form to retrieve results from the database.
This can't be right, can it?

Thanks that worked - I guess you have to use the function buttons instead of actually typing them? Any thoughts as to why the difference?

in the file name field, click Fx,
then click insert function ->
go to all and select concat,
in the concat arguments
click on double click to insert fields, insert your name field on one and delete other two,
after the comma of first one click insert function and insert now() function
that should work
