Jasper, yes you can. We have quite a few fields that dont exist in AD. You just need to know the property name from within SPP (user profiles and properties).
warrtalon - Ill will get round to doing a proper post when I find the time, sooner rather than later. I know this will be of use to a number of other people!

Hi!
The above blog was really usefull but I still have one question. We are going to create custom fields in the SSP, eg 'Team', that is not being filled by the Active Directory. Is it still possible to automatically fill those fields in InfoPath?
Thanks in advance!

That fixed it! Thanks so much.

Custom code is really not necessary for this functionality. On the Date/Time field, if you'ld like the date to NOT change the next time the form is opened, there's a simple checkbox.
On the properties for the field, UNcheck "Update this value when the result of the formula is recalculated"

Thanks Qazi Anis!
qRules can do that, but even though you don't have to write any code to use it, qRules itself is code so that might not work for this poster. Who knows. Anyway, as a reward for helping so many people in this forum, you can have a free version of qRules 2.0. Just send e-mail and it's yours! :)
