Sure! You would need two rules, and each rule has a condition. For example:
If field1 = apples, set field2 = 1.
If field1 = oranges, set field2 = 2.

There are no restrictions to file attachments within the main data source. I found on a secondary data source, manually fixing up the XSL, I only had a readonly control in the view.

The problem is that your schema is not properly defined. The key issue is that you are marking your individual elements as repeating (i.e. maxOccurs="unbounded"). These are not what gets repeated, it is the choice that gets repeated. If you did nothing other than remove the unbounded from element1 and element2, you'd stop getting ...

Thanks. That gets the 2 new columns to show, but nothing is populated in the columns. When a new form gets submitted, the 2 new columns get populated. There are about 5000 documents already in this document library and all those are still blank.
Any more ideas?

You are right Qazi Anis, if the user does change something but don't want to save it, he won't even know that it has already been saved.
The problem I saw with this.close is that since I'm using infopath, and not form services, the form gets closed but infopath remains open. I really didn't like that behaivour.
