• Re: How to display the right value, given a code entered b a user?

I don't think you want to use substring here. All you need is a simple XPath selection formula: /DataSource/Value[Code = current()] Or something along those lines.

• Re: Calling save function in managed code

Well I see now :) So this will be a problem, because I don't know any way how to call "save" (with same functionality as standard toolbar save button has) from codebehind. As a workaround you can use two submit connections (one for save working copy another for submitting completed ...

• How to display the right value, given a code entered b a user?

I'm trying to display a value given a code entered by a user. Since I work with InfoPath 2007, it just support xPath 1.x, so to create a simple if-statement I constructed a rule like this: substring(Value1, 1, (. = Code) * string-length(Value1)) // Value1 and Code is from a secondary datasource this secondary datasource is an XML ...

• Re: Populate Drop Down Box

I did find this link, that refreshes data from secondary source: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/infopath/HP011095581033.aspx This has brought me closer to my goal, but there is still a problem (outside the fact that the user has to hit Refresh). I changed the XML file and hit refresh, but the drop down did not change. I closed out ...

• Re: Calling save function in managed code

there is difference between saving a form and submitting a form, when we say saving it means Work In Progress copy. so it can contain validation errors. but when we say submit it means completed copy, it should not contain validation errors else it wont get submitted. that is why we cannot directly use a submit connection to save data

• Re: Template Location

I think I found the answer elsewhere in the forums but if someone can verify for me I would appreciate it. I can use the DAT to upload the XSN and do any required mapping to SQL and then save the XSN from the DAT and put in in a SP library - as long as I don't go through the InfoPath publishing process. Is that correct?
• Template Location

We have approximately 100 forms that will be migrated to InfoPath. Some will require submission of the data to SQL server but most won't. My intention is to logically group the xsn files into different libraries where the users will fill them out. These templates will be primarily open access. Once they are submitted, ...
• Re: Calling save function in managed code

Saving form in managed code can be achieved by executing submit connection. I don't understand why this is unappropriate solution for you? Before executing that submit connection you can change its FolderUrl property, so the form will be saved wherever you want to (into actual library for example). In loading event you can get url of actual ...
