• re: Using DBXL with Existing Databases

Update: Hilary Stoupa wrote a blog with examples of how to use DBXL on existing SQL databases: www.infopathdev.com/.../use-dbxl-submit-with-existing-sql-data.aspx. While we update top-level tables in place, we choose to do cascading deletes for child and grandchild (etc.) tables because an update would require a tight coupling and the whole ...

Hello, I have an InfoPath form that is opened after it is prepopulated with data. The data populates a repeating section on the form. After each repeating section there needs to be a page break (each repeating section is one printed page). How can this be accomplished without usng code? Every attempt at a solution ...

  • Re: HELP ME PLEASE

Hi Katy, welcome to the InfoPath Dev Forums. Yes what you want to do is totally possible with InfoPath. Just design your data view first, then when you are all done you design the email view (you could copy the entire "date view" over to the email view to speed things up). For the email view you probably want to use expression boxes ...

  • re: InfoPath Forms 101: Codeless = Less Cost

Hi Sunjay, Sorry for the delay in responding. Basically, for SharePoint 2010, the same gaps exist and DBXL is still needed to codelessly submit XML forms to SQL. You can submit flat lists to SharePoint and using BCS push and pull that data to SQL but to do repeating tables and rich data types, you still need a Web Service and that's what DBXL ...

  • HELP ME PLEASE

I am hoping someone out there can help me. I am trying to write a infopath document with two views. I would like the first view to be a "Data" view which will hold all of the data. The second view would be a "Email" view which would take selected pieces of data from the "Data" ...

  • Re: EMERGENCY HELP PLEASE - CANT OPEN FILE

Try extracting your template (make a copy, rename the copy's extension to .CAB, and use a file extraction utility to extract it). Open manifest.xsf in a text editor and remove any parts that refer to ruleSet_218. Then save the file, right click it, and select Design. This is a similar thread, though I'm not sure if his issue ...

  • EMERGENCY HELP PLEASE - CANT OPEN FILE

I have spent many, many hours developing a fairly complex form, then added a couple more controls, republished, and now it won't open (and of course, I had grown too comfortable/stupid to save the previous version before republishing). Now I get the following message whether I try to open the form directly, or right-click ...
