That's odd. They should be identical.
-
It should maintain the field types. Did you set the original ones you created to something other than "string?"
-
No need to tamper with myschema.xsd to do this. Just do the following:
Create your Table1 non-repeating group. Then create a repeating group under that, and add your fields under the repeating group.
Now create a Table2 non-repeating group. Right-click the repeating group, select "Reference..." and select Table2 ...

I see, so you want to reproduce a schema format from your secondary data source in your main data source, is that it?
-
Is the trouble you're trying to avoid the work of adding the fields to the data source, or that of setting up the controls in your form? If it's the former, you can just use the Reference... option in the data source taskpane, but that would result in the new table having the same field names as the original. Is that a problem?

As I said, you need to use [All occurrances of mslbField are not equal to "value"], not [does not contain]. The All occurrances of option is available in the dialog where you select the field.
-
To test whether a value is selected in the mslb (e.g. to hide controls when a certain value is selected):
mslbField is equal to "value"
To test whether a value is not selected in the mslb (e.g. to hide controls when a certain value is not selected):
All occurrances of mslbField are not ...

Just hit the Options tab when you reply, but I'm not sure a screenshot will be that much help if it's just reshowing what you've already described.
-
It's not a direct conversion. Please consult the example on the link I provided.

Looks like you need to use an XPathNavigator to select the node you want to highlight first, and then pass that to SelectNodes().
