If it is a dataconnection you can actually set filename in the forms code itself.
Here is the set of code lines that would help you in setting the filename for a sharepoint connection in the code(c#)
DAVAdapter oSharePoint = (DAVAdapter)thisXDocument.DataAdapters[''SharepointSubmit''];
oSharePoint.FileName = ...

For a webmethod there will be two sections in your dataconnenction one is ''QueryFields'' and the other one is ''DataFields''. If you are passing parameters to a webmethod you need to set those value in QueryFields if you are getting values from a webmethod they will reside in ''DataFields''.
Where are you setting the values, in the ...

You can submit data to webservice via data connections, you can do many things with a data connection. There is submit type of dataconnection also, there is receive type.
This solution can reside on a sharepoint server/central location, from where all users can access the file. But again if you have webreference/Database reference in your form ...

Hi jshannj, Welcome to the Forum!
Filtering can be done in InfoPath directly and you can have sorting by using xsl sort. So you dont need any database support for this. You can have data directly in InfoPath xml files, to filter or sort the data.

Installing form on the server will have full trust on the server not on the client machines. Form can be any where but it has to be given permissions so that it can be executed in your local machine.
So for giving permissions you are making the form full trust.
But one thing if you are using a webservice you need not use webreference, you can ...

You can write code in InfoPath project to get data from ADS. But this requires giving full trust to your form. As you said in your other post that you are using sharepoint, its not a good idea to give full trust to your form. It would be better if you have a small webservice running which gives you data from ADS.

There is a feature in InfoPath to promote the fields to sharepoint. All promoted fields are accessible to sharepoint. In your case you need to promote the ''username''.
For user seeing the forms that are assigned only to him, you can customise the sharepoint views so that user can see only forms that are assigned to him.
