 Hi Hilary, I finally solved the issue by other approach. i.e., deleting all the values of multi-select group by assigning empty group to it. and i am doing this on dropdown change rule and then re populating new values.  Thank you very much for your help. Raj

Thanks a lot Hilary.  from your message "dropdown to set that field to blank when it changes", is this dropdown you are refering is first dropdown? I tried this by writing a rule on change action of first/initial dropdown and i gave left blank for the field of multi-select. Which didnt work. I guess i did mistake ...

Hi Jimmy I am also having same issue of old values persistance. please help me out. In my case, i am using two external data sources that are created using sharepoint lists. i didnt understand what "this value" from your commetns means? and also i dont know how to copy that to external data source. please explain.   thanks raj
