Hi Jimmy,
Currently the form isn't required to work on the web, but in the future it may need to be available to workstations without InfoPath. My other concern is maintainability -- once this project is done, a non-technical person will need to update the default info in the form from time to time, and I don't anticipate ...

Hi Ernesto,
Thats not really a helpful answer as you are using text field controls, where I am using Date Picker controls, so not really a like for like comparison.
The condition in the control is if Manager Selected (which is a tickbox) = false the Disable the control, so it's not a complicated condition. Then, if Manager Selected = ...

Hi Richard,
I just tried this in my environment and it worked. In my example, if the Customer Name columns is blank, the Phone Number field is not displayed.
I'm attaching a screenshot. Please review your form; there may be an error in the condition?
Hope this helps!

Sounds like you have a lot of controls sending data back to the server (Postback settings = Always).

My colleagues are opening new forms directly from the sharepoint

The data connection is set up so that ...

One alternative is to have users search. The data connection would return only results that match the search term and load those into the dropdown. Sadly, I don't believe that InfoPath allows this out of the box. You would need to create your own ...

Hi Mil,
What you're looking for is called "cascading dropdowns". A Google search will yield a wealth of information, with different tutorials and methods. Here's one: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/infopath/archive/2004/03/24/create-dependent-drop-down-list-box-in-infopath-using-filters.aspx.
Hope it helps!

Got it to work. Rather than mapping to an existing SharePoint column, I let InfoPath create a new column, and that was editable.
