I see. Well probably the simplest approach would change your checkboxes so that the checked value is 0 and the unchecked value is the point value of each particular question. Then the way to calculate the number of points would be just:G_Name + G_Clear + ... You could use this in the default value formula of your hidden field.

I hope this is what you need. I'm using a Sharepoint 2010 list as a datasource.
This is a copy of my actual data entry form. The circled box is the hidden field where I try and calculate the number of points deducted. I put the Greeting section in a section just to experiment but I don't know if this makes a ...

In SharePoint, the field is setup as a Single line of text. In InfoPath, the field is setup as Text (string). If the field has an & in the data, when it get's submitted to SharePoint, ...

Thank you Jim for your response. Yes, we can do the interval refresh but we don't want that, we want the refresh only when a new form is added.
-
In SharePoint 2010, if the list or library is being shown on a custom web part page, it is easy to set the "Enable Asynchronous Auto Refresh" under the AJAX Options. Just set the interval that you want it to refresh.
For automatically refreshing the AllItems.aspx, it will probably require editing the page with ...
