Hi RanaK,
Try the first technique in the attached sample: http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/patrick/archive/2011/09/03/free-sample-copying-repeating-data.aspx

Hi Carlos,
1. Save the Excel as XML format and add it as a secondary data source to your InfoPath form.
2. Add a validation rule to match a pattern with d\d\d\d\d\d\d\d as the pattern
3. Same as #1. Or, you could export it to a SharePoint list and connect to the list instead. Qdabra also have an XLS to XML tool which automatically creates ...

Hi Sameer,
I would use default data and not rely on the processing instruction. The PI is just going to return the value cached for the solution. Sending them an XML file with the number in it is probably the way to go. Then they just double click and they have the number in the form.

Are you using an InfoPath list form? Seems like you saved it locally and then republished. Probably, I would go back to the list and customize and then make your changes again without saving the XSN locally.

Hi David,
Why not just insert rows into a repeating structure? What you are doing is a bit of hackeroo.
K2 InfoPath forms can handle code. qRules has an insert, or you could use the out-of-box default data way to add rows (but make sure K2 ignores the blank ones).

Hello Sri,
Probably has to do with the data type for the external picker not matching the data type in the form. From the error message it seems that the InfoPath control is trying to get a value from the external list but it isn't matching or isn't deserializable.
What control are you using in the form for the Item ...

Hi AlexK and thanks for the interesting question.
To be honest, I never knew that InfoPath did this. It seems a bit silly, but it's probably not totally harebrained. InfoPath just doesn't know whether you are using 0/1 or false/true so it provides both. Certainly, I would think you can delete the 0/1 and just use the false/true. But, ...

Hi Gelina44,
I would just disable Submit Options and use a custom button with a "Submit" label and rules that do the work you want.
That way, they won't see the default submit stuff. The custom button with rules is a more powerful approach too and you will lose no functionality.
Good luck,

Hi Debi,
Isn't this the issue we chatted about on Thursday/Friday last week? If so, please post a reply here with the technique so others can see what we came up with.
Here's a link to a sample that I did over a year ago that also describes two techniques, one of which we implemented: ...
