You should be able to encode a pipe symbol. We have done that before. Maybe your form isn't encoding it correctly. Can you send more details?

Is there a particular reason you want to use Visual Studio 2008 as opposed to VSTA? I have used InfoPath 2007 with VS 2005, and InfoPath 2010 with VSTA (InfoPath 2010 is only compatible with VSTA), but I vaguely recall hearing about compatibility issues between InfoPath and VS 2008. Would VSTA be a potential option for you? I've found ...

Hi Bejeweled, The problem with multi-value is that they are all glommed together. So, you have to parse them out. You could use the substring function to parse the values out separately but this will require some work and you'll have to add a corrresponding secondary data source with a repeating table that has the correct XML structure. The ...

Hi DuaneM, Are you saying you want to create a task in the SharePoint Tasks list and associate the workflow with that? If so, we did a webinar in January that showed this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oQ7QdpYdx8&feature=share&list=PL581899A129522F53 If you are instead trying to populate fields from an existing task, that's easy ...

Hi ForumSub, You could use Qdabra's DBXL Web service which will easily map repeating tables and fields into parent and child tables. There's a free trial download here: http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/DBXL.aspx With DBXL it's easy to quickly map XML data into a SQL database. DBXL saves you time and money. Instead of creating a ...

Hi W, Not sure I understand your last clause: "so a group of people down the line can access the form." Best practice is to have a submit or save buttons set the status value and then submit the form. The workflow will have a step for each status value with conditions so that multiple steps don't run. In other words, you want to ...
