Oh, I wonder - would a read only rich text field behave the same? I realize you would end up displaying the whole URL - but I think a URL in an RT box is clickable..... and if the bug isn't present in that case, it may be a workaround?

Oh yuck. In our case it was just two sections bound to the same group, so it was icky, but not mind boggling. Do all 42 sections need to display the hyperlink?

It's odd that you were able to query the Person or Group field from a SharePoint list within InfoPath 2010/2013. Maybe I'm missing something. When I try to set a query fields value all of the fields show up except Person and Group fields.
