Different behaviour between browser and local...with Hyperlink and repeating groups

    Hi

I have a form wich is displaying a Calendar.  i.e a grid 7*6 with a calculated field which determines the date to put in each grid.

As well as the date, there is a repeating section which will display values from a repeating group - if the date matches - this all works ok.

Two of the the items in the repeating group are a field containing a link and a field containing an ID.  I want to display the appropriate ID as a hyperlink on the form.

When developing the form I have inserted a hyperlink from the ribbon and pointed the address data source to the link and the text data source to the ID and this works great !

When publish the form to SharePoint and run in the browser - the ID and Link are ALWAYS the items from the firs occurence in the repeating group

Please can you advise how I can get this to work.

    Thank you

    Catharine

Hey, Catharine, you are going to wonder why I am asking this - but do you have multiple controls on the form that are bound to the same repeating group? I've seen this as bug in IPFS before - I have two different repeating sections bound to the same repeating group, and in the top one, hyperlinks are correct, and in the bottom one they behave as you describe... my work around was ugleeeeee. I created a second repeating group in the schema and had rules to keep them sync'd up.

    Hi Hilary,

I have 42 repeating sections bound to the same repeating group !  I guess from you description I would need to create 41 extra repeating groups in the schema - I don't think I could cope with that. Do you have any other ideas ?

Oh yuck. In our case it was just two sections bound to the same group, so it was icky, but not mind boggling. Do all 42 sections need to display the hyperlink?

Oh, I wonder - would a read only rich text field behave the same? I realize you would end up displaying the whole URL - but I think a URL in an RT box is clickable..... and if the bug isn't present in that case, it may be a workaround?

The form is displaying a course calendar - and on each day there could be one or more courses - the details for each course are held on separate InfoPath forms which users may need to open.  Hence the need for the Ulink to be available on each day. The URL is really long so will make the callendar look a bit of a mess - but I will investigate.
