• Re: InfoPath 2010 questions? Ask here.
Are there any new XPath functions in IP2010? If so, what can they do? Thanks.
Yes, there is a new section called URL that contains SharePointListURL, SharePointServerRootURL, SharePointSiteCollectionURL, and SharePointSiteURL. I haven't noticed any others, but I also haven't done a one-for-one ...

  • Re: InfoPath 2010 questions? Ask here.

Joe, it's highly advisable not to mix and match Office versions. If you plan to use InfoPath 2010, then you should upgrade your whole Office suite to 2010 or use a different machine just for InfoPath 2010. I haven't experienced what you're describing, but I can assure you that there other nasty issues that will also arise ...
I tried to put the validation on a button but it is not available.
what do you mean by, "it is not available"? How can rules not be available on your button? I've never seen that. You just add conditional formatting that says "If Field1 is blank or Field2 is blank or ...

  • Re: contact selector in an InfoPath form problems

I've only seen this happen when the steps to create the Contact Selector are not 100% perfect. It can be as simple as typing AccountID instead of AccountId in the data schema that you create. Please double-check the settings and steps. Also, I've never seen those particular blog articles. Was there a reason you used ...

  • Re: Date Validation

If people are still looking for it, then post your reply where people are currently asking for it. Yes, you can post, but it's not cool to dig up 5yo threads to post a link to your blog, especially with your 4th post. I would have deleted it if it were a major violation, but instead I pointed out to you that it was a very old ...

  • Re: Data Source Issue

Patrick is correct. Browser forms can't pull from views using the regular list data connection. They only pull from the default view, and they always sort the data by ID. To retrieve data from a specific view in order to get filtering and ordering, you must use the XML data connection method that utilizes OWSSVR.dll as ...

  • Re: What is the right answer ?

What is the question? I think you left off all the rest of the information you meant to post. I can tell that the concatenation formula above is attempting to construct a Forms Services URL, but it's not a complete URL. It has most of the main components and may work, but it should have more in it. The 3 parameters you ...

  • Re: Seeking assistance with my Project (which I thought was going to be very easy....)

Sorry to start this off with a downer, but I think what you've experienced here is the fact that InfoPath really is easy to use for creating a form quickly without any experience, but actually integrating it and making it available to people while having environmental limitations is not easy at all. Many of us do this for a living, and ...

  • Re: Mapping data from InfoPath document panel to Word document properties

How did you do this "mapping"? I'm not familiar with a way to map between fields. The way I do it is I use Insert > Quick Parts, and choose the SharePoint fields to insert them into my Word doc. Then, they are the same field, and there is no mapping. Whatever you put in that field in the Word doc reflects ...
