To the best of my knowledge, the only way to inspect the XML structure in this situation would be to follow the code in a debugger and then look at the InnerXml property of the secondary data source.
To get an XPathNavigator positioned at the root of any secondary data source, use the DataSources object: XPathNavigator dataSource = ...

Hilary's suggesting you use a similar (or the same) formula, but use it in rules on dropdown A and B, instead of for the default value of Cb.

Hello again. Glad to hear you're making some progress.
[quote user="fschick"]I tried to apply the first rule to the multi Selection List Box itself and found the following - what I call - 'Quirk': Anytime I selected a value in the Multi Select Check Box as 'CHECKED', the rule would run ...

The attached form should be close to what you're trying to do. It uses the sum() function with some relatively simple XPath selection. Like in the other example you indicated, you'll need to put the formula in the default value and in a rule.
Please let me know if this is sufficient for what you need to do.

The location of the prices.
The location of the nodes related to each price that correspond to the ...

Sorry for not responding sooner. It seems I missed your post. I tried opening the latest form you attached in Preview mode, adding a row to the table, selecting a value for a and b, and Cb is showing the corresponding value just fine. What happens when you try that?

I'm having trouble guessing what would have caused the NaN, but if you type a string into the "Value" field of a "Set a field's value" rule, it will be treated as text and not a function. If you click the Fx button, you should be able to manually enter the function, but using the buttons and dialogs has a ...

qRules is great when you want to set a value in a single row of a repeating section, but if I understand correctly, you're trying to retrieve values based on a dynamic XPath query.
In this case, I think something like this should work: ../@*[local-name() =concat(xdXDocument:get-DOM()/my:myFields/my:PRODUCTS/text(), ...

It isn't very appealing, but this is one approach to this that I came up with:

The problem is that it gets undone any time you make a change to the view's layout so you need to keep re-doing the change any time you modify the view. Please give it a try and see if it ...
