    Hm, that's strange!
    When I do the same, the CB-box stays empty. Just nothing happens...?

    What version of InfoPath are you using? 2003 or 2007?

    Oh oh.... :)

    I'm using 2003. Should I go and talk to the IT-guy? :)

    As I recall the current() function behaves differently in 2003 and 2007. I think instead of a default value, you may need to use a rule to set the field.

    Hm,
    but setting this with rules would mean I would have to set (41*73=) 2993 rules? Or don't I understand?

     Hilary's suggesting you use a similar (or the same) formula, but use it in rules on dropdown A and B, instead of for the default value of Cb.

    Okay, so this is also possible?

    Maybe someone could explain me some more? I have no idea on how to achieve this.
    Or maybe it's best for me to upgrade to 2007? Since I'm not that familliar with InfoPath....

    Thanks.

    Here is a version of your earlier template. Instead of a default value in the field for the Cb column, I've added a rule to the Beta field to set that column when the Beta value changes. You may also want to add the same rule to the Alpha field...

    Hello Hillary,

    thanks! This works! I've indeed added the same rule to the alpha box, so if someone makes a mistake i.e. and they correct it, the value will be adjusted as well.
    Great.
    Now only one thing I'm noticing: the alpha box drop-down is filled with 25-66, but alot of times! It doesn't matter which you choose, so it's no big problem, but it there's something I can do about it?

    Thanks!

     In the properties for the a dropdown, click the button in the entries: row, then the Filter data... button, Add.., change the first dropdown to "The expression" and then use the expression:

     count(../preceding-sibling::*) = 0

    This should cause it to only use the column values from the first row of data in the matrix.

    It should also reduce the delay in adding new rows to the repeating table.

    Hello Jimmy,

    I'm sure it's the right direction! But doing this causes the dropdownbox to only show "25" a lot of times. I tried to change the value "0" in the expression to "1" and this caused the dropdownbox to be filled with alot of  "26's".
    I'm trying to tweak it a bit, but my knowledge is minimal :)

    Thanks!

     Please try using this expression instead (it has an extra "../")

     count(../../preceding-sibling::*) = 0
