Hey there, while I'd like to know why the thisXDocument.Save() was not working as was documented I have a work around.
The functions that would have called the thisXDocument.Save() event I have placed a check thisXDocument.IsNew() if the is new returns true then the use gets a message box saying they must save the form first using the save icon. ...

Hi,
So you think I should write my own Web Service? However I actually like the simple approach of letting SQLXML generate the Web Service interface to the Stored Procedure. I gives me less code to maintain.
Shouldn't it be possible to use a parameterized Web Service for submitting several entries in a repeating table/section?

I am assuming that you are not using VS.Net with InfoPath, but InfoPath alone.
In that case, go to: Tools / Programming / MS Scrit Editor.

Thanks, I thought it was possible. How do I view the current code? (it's been a long time...)

Hi Janice,
Yes, you can take control of the Submit behavior by code by using OnSubmitRequest. In there you can control the Submit behavior based on your logic, status of the form, etc.
As an alternative you can bypass entirely the built-in Submit feature and build your own button with your own code.
Hope that it helps.

Instead of high jacking that person's thread, thought I would start a new one.
Lets say I had two webservice GetDataSet and SetDataSet. The Get will return a dataset that will be bound to a repeating ...

Is it possible to use more than one submit per form by maybe adding or altering the code behind the submit buttons? I can't believe I am the only one who wants to submit a form to different people. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Glad you moved it over here.
My personal preference would be if you have a Webservice named GetDataSet(), that returned a dataset that you used to fill a repeating table in InfoPath, I would create another method called SetDataSet(). Name it whatever you want, but the point is that it would be consistent. Then your SetDataSet would call your ...

further, I have the save as file name already set using the thisXDocument.UI.SetSaveASDialogFileName(stringhere); But that does not open the save as dialog box, it only sets the name for when it gets opened later.
