As a non-programing newcomer to InfoPath I'm in way over my head with something that appears to be very simple. I need to know if I'm askingt a stupid question or if I'm on the right track.
I've gone through Introducing MS Office InfoPath and Developing Solutions with MS InfoPath as well as this and other InfoPath forums and sites and found bits ...

You can use code behind a button to achieve what you are looking for. You will have to use a specific SQL statement and some rather advanced code to cut the SQL data into ''pages''. To use SQL statements to query the database check out this code snippet:
XDocument.QueryAdapter.Command = ''select * from myTable where id > 12 limit ...

You are right Matt, but I wanted to give info for the worst case kind of scenario.
But yes, it wont be as less as 16kb because InfoPath needs to check if the local build is the latest build or not.

Hi Thierry,
It is possible to generate time bound events using taskpane.
You can use setTimeout(''yourfunction()'',1000);.
This method will call yourfunction() every 1000 milliseconds

Forgive me, but I'm ...

I don't know if I correctly understood the question: I wrote nice subs in vb to import in one form nodes coming from another form where both forms are referring to the same template.
For example an user can import rows from the same repeating table in another form.

Thank u Shiraz and MFaus,

I guess if it's not better signing the templete with a code signing certificate obtained by our corporate's rooted CA requested by a ''special'' service user and not ...

If you still want to get user input even though it has no where to go in the database, you could create two sections. One section (with controls tied to SQL) will be visible when the row is present, the other (with controls bound to XML schema) will be visible when no row is returned from the DB. You would also want to modify your submit ...

Conditional formatting is going to be your best bet.
If you want to show/hide a section programmatically set the conditional formatting to show/hide on an invisible boolean node and then change the value of that node in code.
