  • Re: can't use relative path for XML sec data src

Hi Rick, Sounds like an architecture flaw in your solution. Why are you storing the secondary data in files on a server? Why not just query from the form? The other idea would be to use some .NET caching support to get the info down. At any rate, your solution needs to be Full Trust to access a file on a drive and that's a bad design. Need to use ...

  • Re: VB.NET and C#

Hi Rick, Yes, it was a tough decision. Don't remember the pros and cons. Anyway, jscript is getting deprecated. C# and VB.NET are preferred in Office 12. More later... Patrick Halstead [InfoPath MVP] InfoPathDev

This is in VB script it should be very easy to get code like it working in vb.net. Hi just to sum up if i understood what it is you want: You want to retrieve the SPS internal ID of the manager because you want to filter your SPS list by who ever is logged on. As the HowTo specifies, the filtering needs to be done on the ID rather than the user name. Fetching this info could be done in a number of ways. One could be using ...

  • Re: VB.NET and C#

When your major corporate clients request reusable code that their people can use for Office automation, it's gonna be VB.Net. If I was still working back at Microsoft, I'd be using C#. Being a long term Microsoftie, I would never touch anything related to java(not a bad language, just too much bad history). Never could understand why they chose ...

  • Re: Event firing and repeating section

If e.Operation = ''Insert'' Then Try is true when the SQL query returns data and also true when I choose a different value in the drop down listbox. So whatever action I take happens to every record returned. How do I differentiate between a query return and a user changing the value?

  • Re: can't use relative path for XML sec data src

The environment can be a local computer hard disk, a Web site, a share on a server, etc. Currently everything is installed locally on each client machine--which we need to move away from toward a central location on each site with one copy of the forms and one copy of the data files. Unfortunately, each location is unique, and I have little to no ...
