Thanks, that is the problem. The Access DB while it has relationships that identify unique records, there is not one field that identifies each record and it looks like because of that InfoPath is not letting me use the connection to write back, even though the UI looks the same as a form that would allow me to write back. Any ideas on ...

Hello JaySwan,
One question that I have for you is - are you trying to just retrieve data or to both retrieve and submit data to the DB. If you are trying to just retrieve data from the DB you can create a new data connection using Tools -> Data connections to the specific Access DB. To show this data in a section format, drag drop the ...

I'm sorry, I thought I had seen within the conditional formatting that you could format the number that way. I know there is an easy way to do this, I'll post back if I can find it.

I dont think this will help. All conditionally formatting will do is format colour or font. I need to change the currency type from example from a default e.g. €0.00 to $0.00 based on currency selection?

Fairly new to InfoPath, about 3 weeks.
When I add a button to the form, and select Action/Submit the default DataBase is not availiable. I am using Access 2003 as my back end. I can not seem to submit back to the DB if I make any changes, I can't get the submit functionally to show up on the tool bar.

This is just a rough sketch, but I think the following JScript would work to submit the different forms.
//Start the application
var oApp = new ActiveXObject(”InfoPath.Application”);
//Open an ...

Hi Taffman,
Have you tried using conditional formatting rules to do this?
http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/assistance/ha011227821033.aspx
You should be able to do what you want with conditional formatting as you would just test for the value of the selection they have made in the drop down list and then format accordingly.

What I did was to create a form with two views. The main one had entry fields and dropdowns where you would make your selections and enter your data. Then you would press a button to open the alternate view which showed how all your selections would look when put together to form the message we want to send to a distribution group. It's the second ...

I'd like ot be able to format any currency field in my form to the currency picked from a drop down list.
I've been using the sample template ''Expense Report International'' which does a simular thing but this template just changes the text that appears on the field label. Is there a way to actually reformat the currency of a numeric field?
