Hello
I think you cannot directly connect Outlook address book to Infopath. Create a Db out of the Address book and then try creating a Infopath Form with Db as Data Connection and then can show the Name into the Form fields.

How do I do this...
1. I need to be able to select someone from the Outlook contacts/names
2. Put the name chosen into one of the form fields
Thanks, Dave

Hi!
If I connect a dropdownlist in infopath to a webservice, it's working fine, but the first entry is an empty entry (my webservice doesn't generate empty entries!). Can I disable this, so that the first entry is the default entry and not this empty entry is the default entry?
Best regards,
sewid

I'll tell you what I did when I was in the same situation. I am an experienced VBA script writer and struggled with jscript and vbscript when I first started with InfoPath.
I gave up.
I got Visual Studio and wrote script for InfoPath in VB.net. It's much easier and works like the VBA I'm used to.
Just ...

I have worked this weekend to design code based on an old VBA code I had which worked very well for a Word Form which searched a Table for records to match based on Leave Request , Login and Start Date. If there was a match then the record updated a few fields, and that was all, If there was no Match (meaning that a record had not previously been ...

Hello,
I am sorry for not mentioning that this is in Infopath 2007.
In Infopath 2003 you need to create a identical view and make every control readonly by selecting Read only in the Control Properties -> Display Tab-> Check Read only.
Sorry for the Confusion. I hope this will solve your Issue.

Kalyan,
I can't seem to find the readonly button in the View properties. I am using InfoPath 2003 SP2. Here is what I see...
General: view name, set as default view, show on the view menu when filling out the form, background color, use a background picture, use a custom layout width for this form.
Text Settings: applay settings to, font, ...
