Ok, I ended up getting this to work by created rules as the fomr opens. My only problem now is that I cant seem to directly check to see if a person is a site admin. For now I had to create an admin contact list in sharepoint and then when my form opens, I use a data connection to see if the username is in this contact group. I would rather ...

I managed to achieve some sort of success using conditional formatting, but it's not flexible enough and won't solve our problem.
I downloaded the Visual Studio 2003 toolkit for InfoPath, and I was wondering if it is possible to achieve this using managed code in combination with InfoPath.

After I posted this I managed to do it. Typical!!
However, after accomplishing this I found that if you run a query and then enter some new data afterwards, the query result is still displayed in the Data Entry view....is there any way to stop this?

I've an InfoPath 2003 form published to a SharePoint portal.
I now have a requirement to fetch the change history (stored in the SharePoint using Versions) and display it on the screen.
How do we fetch the version history from SharePoint?
Any pointers in this regard are welcome.

If you setup a button to save new entries and query main connection in one go then the records would be re-sorted as per your data connection

Per the SDK, OnAfterChange occurs after changes to a form's underlying XML document have been accepted and after the OnValidate event has occurred.

There seems to be a lot of editing errors in Chapter 3, i.e., pg.107, ''Figure 3-23 shows sample data source'' when the actual figure shows a new button to add and pg. 99, step 1 ''In Tools, click Data Connections'' a form does not even exist at this point so the step is impossible. Have these been documented and corrected somewhere?
